What is an Educational Psychologist?
An Educational Psychologist is a registered mental health professional who specialises in understanding how individuals learn, develop, adapt, and function across various environments and life stages.
Educational Psychologists assess and support cognitive, academic, emotional, behavioural, social, developmental, and vocational functioning. They work with children, adolescents, adults, families, schools, organisations, and other professionals to identify strengths, understand challenges, and develop practical strategies that promote well-being and optimal functioning.
Educational Psychologists are trained to conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, provide therapeutic interventions, support emotional and behavioural development, facilitate learning and educational success, and guide individuals through important life transitions and decision-making processes.
Their work extends beyond schools and learning difficulties. Educational Psychologists also support individuals experiencing emotional challenges, developmental concerns, adjustment difficulties, career uncertainty, family-related concerns, and barriers that may impact personal, academic, or occupational functioning.
At Karabo Ledwaba Psychological Services, we believe that every individual has unique strengths and potential. Through assessment, intervention, consultation, and collaboration, we aim to empower individuals and families with the insight, support, and tools needed to thrive.
